South Asia Leadership Training Center
Raising up leaders to reach the unreached in South Asia. Mission Statement:
The South Asia Leadership Training Center is passionately committed to training men and women who are called of God into Christ-likeness and empowerment by the Holy Spirit to plant churches rooted in the Word of God.

Project Goals: South Asia Leadership Training Center (SALTC)

Phase 1) Within 10 years of completion SALTC will have trained 12,250 pastors and missionaries through intense training seminars at the Retreat Center and through summertime continuing education courses in leadership, church-planting, raising leaders, and spiritual disciplines etc..

Phase 2) Within 10 years of completion SALTC will have graduated 1,175 junior and senior leaders from the Beersheba Gospel Training Center (BGTC) through courses of study in the Bible, church-planting, character formation, leadership training, etc.

Phase 3) House 20 retired missionaries

Phase 4) Establish SALTC as self-supporting by creating revenue-generating ventures

Background:
From its humble beginnings in 1972, IET has grown to become the largest indigenous mission in India. In the last ten years, IET has experienced phenomenal growth with over 2,000 missionaries currently working across India, Bhutan, and Nepal. The need for trained leaders to establish church-planting movements all across South Asia has become an important need for IET and for the Kingdom. IET needs to train a minimum of 400 missionaries every year. When completed, South Asia Leader Training Center (SALTC) in Pipiriya, Madhya Pradesh, India, will accommodate 500 Bible college students and serve as a base for continued training of IET field missionaries.

Expected Outcomes:
A minimum of 1 million workers is needed to reach every unreached village in India. It is estimated that for every 76,000 unreached person there is currently only one Christian worker. Native missionaries, most of whom are first-generation converts, must also be trained to reach the unreached in the neighboring countries of Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and eventually Tibet and Burma.

IET operates on the principle of spiritual multiplication as mandated by the Great Commission. Each pastor/missionary trained by IET is required to plant a church, disciple, and shepherd this church until a mature body of believers is established. Then they must train a few members of that church for church-planting work. The original missionary then repeats the process in another unreached village. Based on previous experience, we estimate that at least 40 pioneer churches will be planted for each graduate of SALTC. Village evangelism and church-planting is a required part of coursework for every student at our Bible college.

SALTC will consist of the School of Church Planting, a Retreat Center for ongoing development of field leaders, a twenty-four hour House of Prayer, and homes for the elderly (including retired missionaries). Each summer while the Bible college is on holiday, IET will train 500 of its 2,050 field missionaries in time management, church-planting, biblical studies, and methods of evangelism.

Once completed as part of Phase 3, the Retreat Center will operate year-round with a capacity of an additional 1,000 missionaries and church-planting leaders trained annually.

Major Goals: One of the major goals of SALTC is to become financially self-sustaining. To this end, four revenue-generating ventures will operate on the campus.

1) Agriculture - Produce and dairy products will be grown and sold at market to not only raise money for SALTC but also to provide food for students.

2) Business Center- Restaurants and a bookstore will be built on the front of the property along the main road.

3) Medical Clinic - A medical clinic will be established not only for the students but also for the public on a fee basis.

4) Graduate School - A tuition based graduate school for masters and doctoral students will be established on site.

Courses of Study:
SALTC offers an undergraduate and diploma-level courses. Both are structured to raise up leaders who will plant churches and lead church-planting movements among the un-reached people of South Asia .

Spiritual and political climate of Pipiriya, Madhya Pradesh (proposed campus):
The region in and around the college campus has seen very little evangelistic activity. As part of our student's studies, they are required to adopt a village/people group and carry out ministry among the un-reached. (This approach is unique to the Beersheba Gospel Training Center.)

God has granted IET much favor in the eyes of politicians in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Traditionally, it has been ruled by the Indian Congress which is pro-Christian and the largest Indian political party. Various state senate members hold IET and its work in high regard.
For example, the Minister for Internal Affairs has given finances out of government funds for the development of some IET projects. Additionally, the IET leader here is highly respected by the people of the entire region and by the administration.
